Photograms

I had the opportunity the other day to teach a group of folks how to make photograms in the darkroom using found objects.  Teaching this class got me going on my own photogram project using fall leaves and feathers.   The simplicity of the items, yet the complexity of the veins and different patterns created, is so fascinating.  Another interesting thing happened with the sharpness of the image depending on how flat the leaf was against the photographic paper.  Of course, just printing them in the darkroom wasn’t enough…I’ve taken the original prints, scanned and then inverted them.  Hope you enjoy!
